Christmas has come and went, yet in this most wonderful season of the year, we saw many new changes and blessings over the past 12 months which were a great encouragement for the work we do throughout China. As some might know (or don't know) I, along with my wife Ruth, pastor a church in the lower region of Chongqing, and this year was our first Christmas event for a house church which normally sees just about 50 people per service. This year however, we broke the record with over 100 in attendance, so much so that we had the overhead doors opened because of the overflow, with many standing outside to see and hear the wonderful news about Jesus Christ.

We had over 20+ people who gave their heart to Christ, and just over 12 who were baptized the same day. Yet through it all, God moved during this wonderful Christmas season. Currently as I write this, Ruth and I are traveling across China to meet with new church leaders as we begin the process of adding more churches to our ministry for support as well as training. The need is ever so great these days, especially with the changing times happening throughout all of China, yet we remain optimistic that in the next few years, not only will we continue to grow, but so will these new churches we are planting and establishing. To God we give all the glory to.

THE DOOR TO CHINA IS OPENING
Things are changing in China. Unlike the past several decades where the gospel as well as the church throughout China was greatly restricted, something has been occurring for the past several years which has given hope to many who have desired to see the gospel brought into the nation.

Today, with the changing of the times globally, a social and cultural change is shaping behind the bamboo curtain so that now, after so many years of previous hardships and trials, Christianity is becoming part of the Chinese culture, even accepted. But why? And why now?

Jesus said that in the last days, just before he returned, that this gospel, the gospel of Jesus Christ would be preached unto all nations, and then the end would come. In this 21st century, something dramatically is happening within China and that is change. A change from a position of intolerance, where Christians were viewed as suspect, are now free to grow and expand, and best of all, worship freely within China.

Yet while change does take time, and there are yet still many obstacles to overcome throughout China, both socially as well as politically, China Missions stands at the forefront of that change. We invite you to follow us daily in our work here in China as we take the gospel of the kingdom of Christ into China one province at a time, one soul at a time. This new change happening is yet another sign that soon and very soon the kingdom of Jesus Christ will be preached unto all peoples, then our redemption will come. Until then, we labor within this area planting churches, establishing the tools and spiritual knowledge among both the leaders as well as the people so that they in turn can reach their land with this gospel.

God bless,
Christopher and Ruth Gregory
